Anxiety

Nearly a 5th of adults in the UK suffer from some sort of anxiety or depression.  This is usually linked to a particular situation the person has found themselves in and twice as many women suffer with anxiety than men.  Often a culmination of stress and lack of confidence, which have not been dealt with results in anxiety problems.  The most common type of anxiety is Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) but there are many other types. 

Emotional Symptoms of anxiety can be:

  • Feelings of apprehension or dread
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Feeling tense and jumpy
  • Anticipating the worst
  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Watching for signs of danger
  • Feeling like you're mind's gone blank

Physical Symptoms can be:

  • Pounding heart
  • Sweating
  • Stomach upset or dizziness
  • Frequent urination or diarrhea
  • Shortness of breath
  • Tremors and twitches
  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia

Hypnotherapy can help with anxiety by finding different ways of dealing with whatever is causing the anxiety while the client is in a relaxed level of awareness.  By helping the client to reframe negative thoughts to positive thoughts and by teaching the client self-hypnosis and method's to relax.
